Agility Dog Club of South Australia
Agility Dog Club of SA will host the Twilight Agility and Jumping Trials featuring a full evening competition with the events starting at 6pm
Saturday 23rd November the Agility Dog Club of SA hosts the Twilight Agility and Jumping Trials at Pedigree Park (German Shepherd Dog Club grounds, adjacent Barrett Reserve), West Beach Road, West Beach starting at 6pm
Action starts at 6pm and should run through until 9pm – entry and parking are free and the event has onsite catering available.
8 Events – Agility (Novice, Excellent, Open and Masters levels) where a single combination of dog and handler follow a course of jumps, tunnels plus obstacles such as a See saw, A Frame, Dog walk and Weaving poles and must go clear on faults and under time.
It is similar to a ‘Derby’ competition in equestrian showjumping. Jumping (Novice, Excellent, Open and Masters levels) where a single combination of dog and handler must complete the course of jumps and tunnels within a set time frame and go clear just like the equestrian sport of showjumping.
Doing agility training with your dog can help provide them with the mental and physical stimulation that helps working dog breeds keep behaviour problems at bay. Agility can also improve obedience and develop better leadership with the owner, including improving off lead control. But, best of all, it can be a lot of fun and provide socialisation opportunities for both owner and dog.
