Pooches at Play Series 7 starts Saturday 25 June 2022

I’m so excited to announce that Pooches at Play Series 7 will hit TV screens on Saturday 25 June at 2pm on Channel 10 and 10Play and encores Sundays at 4pm on 10BOLD, particularly as so many pet parents are struggling with pets adopted during the pandemic.+

I may not have shared with you before that the reason why I created Pooches at Play was that I felt there was a gap in the market where Australian pet owners could access much needed pet behaviour, health, grooming and other lifestyle advice in an easy to understand and entertaining format, all from the comfort of their own home.

Now, with a substantial boom in pet ownership across Australia – an estimated 69% of households now own a pet, led by a surge in dog ownership with over a million additional dogs being brought into Australian households since 2019*, there has never been more demand for information to help struggling dog owners deal with the behavioural changes and challenges that come with a return to life post-pandemic… and it is my goal to help as many owners and their dogs cope as possible.

This year our weekly episode format includes expert tips and advice covering dog training and behaviour, grooming, food and nutrition, breed profiles and pet-friendly lifestyles, health advice with Veterinarian Dr Melissa Meehan, as well as profiling the community and charity initiatives supported by PETstock’s Petspiration Foundation, formerly PETstock Assist, in an effort to help recognise and promote the important human animal bond that has got many people through the past two years.

In Pooches at Play Series 7 you will also be able to join me on my visit to the Top End to learn more about the health care challenges for dogs in remote and regional indigenous communities across Australia, including the deadly tick-borne disease Ehrlichiosis that was first identified in Australia late 2020 and which has had a devastating impact on both the dogs and the local communities in these areas.

The primary purpose of Pooches at Play is to provide trustworthy, expert information and advice, sharing our collective knowledge with pet parents to enhance their bond with, and the health and wellbeing of, their pets. I also hope to raise awareness of the challenges facing many pet guardians across Australia.

Most importantly, the information pet owners receive through Pooches at Play on all of our platforms can genuinely help pets to live longer and happier lives, and make your own lives easier, which is something we all need more than ever at this time.

Pooches at Play Series 7 premieres on Channel 10 and 10Play on Saturday June 25 at 2pm and encores Sundays on 10BOLD at 4pm for 8-weeks, so make sure you tune in to help ensure we can continue to bring this important information to you.
