Meet Jono Coleman and his Spoodle Banjo

Jono Coleman
In this segment, we had the privilege of meeting media personality Jono Coleman and his gorgeous Spoodle Banjo before he sadly passed in July 201.
Jonathan “Jono” Coleman was an English-born television presenter, radio announcer, writer, comedian, and advertorial spokesperson. Sadly, Jono passed away not long fter our after living for four years with prostate cancer at the age of  65.

Jono had a long and distinguished media career both in Australia and his native Britain, and was a presenter on Studio 10 on Network 10 when we filmed his love of Banjo on Pooches at Play.

He was first seen on our Australia TV screens in 1979 as part of the original line-up of Simon Townsend’s Wonder World. His TV credits include the Late Night with Jono and Dano show, Hey, Hey It’s Saturday, Have a Go, as well as London correspondent for Channel 7’s Sunrise.

Jono Coleman was awarded an OAM in 2015 for his service to broadcast media and the community, including his work with Radio for the Print Handicapped, the School for the Deaf and Blind, the Schizophrenia Research Institute, Carers’ Australia and most recently the Movember Foundation.

RIP Jono, a true gentleman! His memory lives on.
