Have you seen us in the news?

What a week it’s been for Darcy!

A full-page story in this week’s Woman’s Day magazine sharing his story of how he came to find his forever home here at Pooches HQ, followed by a photo with some of his Pooches at Play mates in Melbourne’s Herald Sun newspaper.  What more could a limelight-loving pooch like Darcy want?

‘Meet Australia’s luckiest dog!’ headlined the Woman’s Day article, followed by the story of how I came to meet Darcy who was re-homed twice before he came to be all mine and an Ambassador for Second Chance Animal Rescue.  I remember having an instant connection with the little man, whenever I walked past his previous home, he’d wait at the gate for me and now it seems like forever we’ve been together!

Little did I know though, that he’d be the star of Pooches at Play and an absolute natural in front of the camera.

Only a few days after the Woman’s Day article, a Herald Sun article followed, promoting the Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow which I’ll be presenting at from the 20th – 23rd Feb. For the first time, the show is dedicating an area to our legged friends called the ‘Paw Patch’. I’ll be presenting tips on common dog behaviour issues including barking, jumping, aggression, boredom and anxiety and I’ll also be giving tips for keeping your dog safe whilst travelling.  You can even bring your dogs with you along to the show, how pawsome is that!!

With 38% of households owning a dog (RSPCA), going on holiday always presents an issue when your fur-kids are considered a member of your family. This is why there has been a strong focus on pet-friendly travel over the past few years – with the goal of making travelling with your pet a lot safer and care-free.

If you can’t make it down to the Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow this weekend, you can visit the ‘weekend escapes’ section of our website for all the latest pet-friendly travel tips.

On top of all this, I’ll be looking into ways to manage Darcy’s ego! The fame has gone straight to the little guys head and at some point, I’ll need to bring him back down to earth. But for now, he can enjoy his 15 (well actually the past 18 months worth) of fame. 🙂

Till next time,

Lara & Darcy x
