Ita Buttrose and her Groodle Cleo

In this celebrity and their dog segment on Pooches at Play,  co -host Gyton Grantley meets up with the grand dame of the media, Ita Buttrose, and her very well behaved Groodle, Cleo, to find out more about this breed.

Ita Buttrose is an Ambassador for the Animal Welfare League of Queensland’s (AWLQ) Golden Hearts program and tells us about here role.

Ita was named Australian of the year in 2013 for her charity work to highlight the needs of senior people in the community and this is a great initiative that supports elderly people with pets who need support looking after them in times of emergency or changing life situations.

Itta Buttrose’s autobiography, A Passionate Life, was published in 1998.  As one of Australia’s leading media personalities, Ita Buttrose was the founding editor of Cleo magazine and was also editor of The Australian Women’s Weekly. 

Other media roles included being the Editor in Chief of the Sydney Daily Telegraph & Sydney Sunday Telegraph and the Sun-Herald, while she is also the Chairwoman of the ABC until March 2023.
