As dental health is one of the most significant areas of health and wellbeing for your dog, the Bell & Bone Dental Sticks can help form part of your dog’s daily oral care regime.
With four out of five dogs showing signs of gum disease by the age of three, which can lead to chronic pain and wide-ranging effects throughout the rest of their body, Bell & Bone’s Founder Arianne Sackville, wanted to create a healthy dental chew alternative, that worked.
Locally made with natural ingredients
Based in Melbourne, she worked with Vets to formulate a range with products sourced and made locally with no fillers, grains and that contained natural superfood ingredients.
The range includes real meat protein with kangaroo, salmon, beef, lamb along with coconut, mint, turmeric, parsley, chia, rosehip, seaweed, sweet potato and more.
Developed to fight plaque
The chew not only scrapes the tooth, but also contains active ingredients known to prevent and reduce plaque and tartar. These two key ingredients include Sodium Tripolyphosphate which binds to the enamel, interacting with calcium in the dogs’ mouth to prevent it forming plaque. It also helps prevent stains on teeth and can be easily digested.
Zinc Sulphate inhibits the growth of bacteria and assists in reducing bad breath.
The unique 3-pronged shape encourages dogs to get their teeth deep in the stick, which promotes the chewing that activates these two ingredients.
Designed for each stage of a dog’s life
Puppies need to chew and even more so when teething. The Bell & Bone puppy dental sticks will help to release a lot of the puppy tension and energy, plus encourages concentration and enrichment, and develop their chewing skills .
For adults they come in different sizes and collagen and provide enrichment to combat boredom, plus provide the important dental care.
When it comes to caring for senior dogs, they still need enrichment but often have frail or missing teeth so need a chew that is designed specifically for older dogs.
Other daily oral care is needed too
It is important of course to not rely on Dental Sticks alone for good oral health for your dog.
To keep your dog’s teeth and gums healthy it requires a daily oral care routing including brushing your dog’s teeth each day, or using a topical cleaning gel, feeding a healthy diet that promotes good dental health and ensuring you take your dog for an annual dental check and clean with a Vet.
